RCIA
Mission: To be friend, teacher and example for those seeking to know the Catholic Faith and, if it be God’s will, lead them to the Easter Sacraments.
The R.C.I.A. Ministry (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) is a team of parish members whose purpose is to share their Catholic Faith with those interested in learning more about the Catholic Church. The R.C.I.A. is composed of four areas of ministry.
- First: Catechists share their faith by teaching the doctrines, traditions and practices of the Catholic Faith. Weekly sessions begin in the fall each year and are held between the 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Sunday Masses.
- Second: Scripture Discussion Leaders share with those in the RCIA program the Catholic view of Sunday Scriptures at Dismissal each Sunday at the 8:30 a.m. Mass.
- Third: Sponsors are Catholic acquaintances to the inquirer who are either current friends or become acquainted by attending sessions. These individuals accompany the person along their journey of faith. The sponsor is an extremely important person who visits with the inquirer, attends sessions with them, encourages them, and keeps them abreast of parish services and activities.
- Fourth: Prayer Partners are members of the parish who pray for the inquirers attending the sessions. These highly important members of R.C.I.A. ministry also pray for the guidance of the Holy Spirit for the R.C.I.A. Team in this ministry.
RCIA meets Sunday mornings between the Masses from 9:45 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. beginning in September.
