Welcome

Welcome to St. Cecilia Catholic Church

Dear Parish Family,

With joy, we present a revised copy of our parish family directory. As usual, it is for our personal use, and we hope it will help us familiarize and know one another as members of St. Cecilia Parish. We are grateful to our advertisers, who through their contributions, made this directory possible.

Also, with a great sense of appreciation, I thank you for your unwavering commitment to the course of the Parish. Commitment sometimes takes a toll on individuals and therefore it is not an easy feat to be done. To be committed to something, one has to offer one’s time, energy, strength, intelligence and even one’s finances. I attest that you have readily given your time, strength, intelligence and finance towards the growth and development of St. Cecilia Parish. It is through your commitments that we are able to grow and progress. The recently completed parking lot project is a proof of your commitment, support and love for the parish. May the good Lord bless and reward you all abundantly.

I welcome back all families that went on their deserved summer vacation and rest. I hope you enjoyed your vacation and you are refreshed and ready for our usual or normal parish routines and activities. I also welcome those who newly moved to town and are now registered members of St. Cecilia Parish family. I simply say, feel at home, be happy and enjoy your new home.

We are commencing classes for the reception of the Sacraments of Holy Eucharist and Confirmation. The Edge and Life Teen programs will resume too. Parents, remember you have a responsibility toward your children to ensure they have proper faith formation. Please encourage them to attain these classes with their peers.  Also, there will be class for The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA). This is a program that helps people to learn and know more about the Catholic faith and teachings, grow in their spiritual life, and be able to discern their calling to be members of the Catholic Church. Be a part of the movement of “Missionaries for Christ” by speaking to your friend, colleague, or family member about the goodness of our Lord, Jesus Christ. The bible study program for the enrichment and understanding of our faith will continue also. (The study programs are available for check-out for home study or for group study). Rosary during the Wednesday evenings will commence as well as Wednesday weekly choir practice.

Finally, I commiserate with some of our parish family members who lost their loved ones. May the Lord continue to console the bereaved families and grant eternal rest to the faithful departed, Amen.

God bless you all!

Yours in Jesus and Mary,
Rev. Fr. Sylvanus I Amaobi
Pastor
